About the Event

Get ready to kick off Art Week with a bang at NO REST FOR THE WICKED! Because when you work hard, you deserve to play even harder—

The Hangzhou-based independent art institution MARTIN GOYA BUSINESS  is collaborating with Hong Kong independent art space current plans and the art media platform C for ABC to host an art party in Hong Kong on March 25, 2025.

In addition to the participation of the audiovisual label V33N0, the event is specially co-curated with graffiti artist LOUSY .

Titled "No Rest for the Wicked: 廿五無休", the party highlights the relentless creative drive of artists, bringing together dozens of artists and musicians from Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Hong Kong to showcase their latest works. Among them, Mian Mian, a legendary figure from Shanghai’s early club and subculture scene, will present her new book and short film, engaging in an intergenerational dialogue with emerging digital artists. Meanwhile, LOUSY, aside from bringing his new installation series “something older than words”, will also deliver an experimental noise performance, creating an immersive fusion of visuals and sound. Additionally, cross-media artist xiexie3lla will make their Hong Kong live performance debut at the event.

About the Organisers:

MARTIN GOYA BUSINESS

The mysterious creature born in the Post Southern Song Dynasty. It is the fantastic illusion gathering in the dark, a hidden place for cats. The name, MARTIN GOYA, is derived from a black cat that was named after an FBI agent in the Hollywood movie “SPY” (2015), who fabricated a pseudonym for himself by combining the name of a pet with a home address.

MARTIN GOYA BUSINESS was founded by artist Cheng Ran and Da Mian, as a pioneer platform that advocates for an alternative youth culture. Setting itself apart from existing art systems, it is committed to promoting and supporting the diverse practice and exploration of emerging local artists. Martin Goya Business closely aligns with today’s trend and avant-garde fashion, shaping and leading a new visual and culture scene with their unique vibe.

MARTIN GOYA BUSINESS has become one of the most different Chinese local organizations over the past 7 years. MGB has curated over 100 events and exhibitions across Hangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Paris and collaborated with over 400 creators including artists, curators, writers, designers and musicians. By working collectively with not only art museums, art agencies, music labels, but media and even idols, MGB is growing slowly with Hangzhou as a starting point.
